How do you define success?
According to Oxford, success is defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.
For me, success used to be measured by accomplishments and the goals I set forth to achieve. Now, with age and wisdom, I measure success by how much growth I make. Once I learned that I wasn't in competition with anyone but myself, I started looking at what made me successful differently.
On paper, I'm highly successful, having a degree and running my own business. But in life, and maybe it's because I'm my biggest critic, I'm nowhere near as successful as I should be. I haven't reached the point in my life where I can be content in my, "I did it". Yes, I have plenty to show for everything I've achieved. Every goal I have put out into the atmosphere has been accomplished.
So, if I had to put a sentence together to tell someone what success means, I would say, success is what happens when you tell yourself you CAN and DO what you told yourself you could do.
How would you define success? What does that look like to you?
